Why Visit

Wenberg County Park

Wenberg County Park sits on the north shore of Lake Goodwin, a 625-acre warm-water lake known for water skiing, wakeboarding, and bass fishing in Snohomish County. The 70-site campground is organized into loops with a mix of full-hookup sites, partial-hookup sites, and standard sites — accommodating RVs up to 45 feet. A boat launch, swim beach, and playground make it a well-rounded family destination. Lake Goodwin is one of the few lakes near the Puget Sound metro area warm enough for comfortable summer swimming. Nearby Camano Island State Park adds hiking options. The park is located near Stanwood, with good grocery and fuel access, and a Costco in Marysville less than 25 miles away.

Local parks, local character

Wenberg County Park sits on Lake Goodwin in the Snohomish County lowlands, a small glacial lake whose relatively undeveloped shoreline maintains riparian habitat for nesting osprey, kingfisher, and great blue heron in a rapidly urbanizing corridor. Lake Goodwin supports populations of rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and yellow perch, and the park's protected waterfront provides one of the few remaining public lake access points in a shoreline increasingly dominated by private development. The surrounding Snohomish River lowlands connect to the Ebey Slough and Snohomish River estuary, important Chinook salmon rearing areas and one of the most significant remaining river delta ecosystems on the eastern Puget Sound shore.

🗺️

Lake Goodwin waterfront sites (1–30) fill first — the lake has the warmest swimming water in the area. Hookup sites in the back loops. A great family option when Camano Island parks are full. The lake warms quickly in early summer. Easy access from I-5 makes this a convenient overnight. The boat launch is handy for canoe and kayak access.
