Why Visit

Camano Island State Park

Camano Island State Park wraps around 6,700 feet of rocky Puget Sound shoreline with sweeping views of the Olympics and Cascades. The upper loop is the better choice for RVs up to 40 feet, with several pull-through sites and easier maneuvering. No hookups, but facilities include flush restrooms with showers, potable water, and a dump station. A one-mile connecting trail links the park to the historic Cama Beach resort next door, where kids can rent wooden rowboats.

Washington State Parks — built for exploration

Camano Island State Park perches on the southwest bluffs of Camano Island with direct views across Saratoga Passage to the glacier-carved peaks of the Olympic Mountains, and easy beach access along a rocky shoreline rich with tide pool life. The park connects via trail to Cama Beach Historical State Park one mile to the south, and together they protect over a mile of undeveloped saltwater shoreline on an island increasingly surrounded by residential development. Saratoga Passage off the park's shore is a recognized wintering ground for western grebes, surf scoters, and common loons, and southern resident orca occasionally pass through the passage during salmon season.

🗺️

North loop sites on the bluff above Saratoga Passage (especially sites 1–12) have the best Cascade Mountain sunrise views and fill first. South loop sites are better for larger RVs — wider turnarounds and hookups available. Request any bluff site for stunning views across the water toward the Cascades. The beach is a 5-minute walk down a forest trail from the campground.
