National Park

One of Washington's crown jewels

Fairholme sits within Olympic National Park, one of the most ecologically diverse landscapes in North America, where ancient temperate rainforests meet glacier-carved lake basins beneath cloud-capped peaks. The park encompasses three distinct ecosystems — old-growth rainforest, alpine wilderness, and 73 miles of wild Pacific coastline — all accessible within an hour's drive. Lake Crescent itself is a glacially carved marvel reaching 624 feet in depth, supporting endemic fish species found nowhere else on Earth.

Insider Knowledge

Site recommendations from the field

Sourced from first-hand visits, park ranger notes, and RV community reports. Updated when conditions change.

🗺️

Sites 1–20 sit closest to Lake Crescent's shoreline and offer the best access to the water — book these first. Lakefront sites fill months out; if they're gone, aim for the outer ring of Loop B for more space between neighbours. Avoid sites near the dump station (end of Loop C) for noise. Pull-through sites in Loop A handle rigs up to 35 ft.
