National Park

One of Washington's crown jewels

Heart O' the Hills opens the door to Hurricane Ridge, where subalpine meadows burst with summer wildflowers at 5,200 feet elevation with panoramic views of the Olympic Mountain interior. Olympic National Park's high country shelters populations of Olympic marmot, black-tailed deer, and mountain goat found only within this peninsula ecosystem. The park's exceptional ecological isolation — surrounded by saltwater on three sides — has produced 16 endemic plant and animal species found nowhere else on the planet.

🗺️

Loop C has the largest, most level sites and is the best choice for RVs. Loops A and B are surrounded by old-growth Sitka spruce — quieter but tighter for big rigs. Sites on the outer edge of each loop give the most privacy. Arrive by early afternoon Friday in summer; this fills completely by Friday evening most weekends.
