Why Visit

Mora Campground

Mora sits in coastal Sitka spruce forest a short walk from Rialto Beach, one of the most dramatic coastlines on the Olympic Peninsula. Kids can hike along the beach to Hole-in-the-Wall, a natural arch carved by the Pacific at low tide. Ranger programs in summer add learning to the adventure.

National Park

One of Washington's crown jewels

Mora sits at the edge of Olympic National Park's wild coast, where the Quillayute River meets the Pacific and Rialto Beach's sea stacks and arched rock formations define one of Washington's most iconic shorelines. The Hole-in-the-Wall sea arch — a tunnel through a basalt headland carved by wave action — is reachable by a 1.5-mile beach walk, offering a window into the park's dramatic coastal geology. This section of coast falls within the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary, protecting a biologically rich marine environment that includes migrating gray whales, sea otters, and enormous northern sea lion colonies.

Insider Knowledge

Site recommendations from the field

Sourced from first-hand visits, park ranger notes, and RV community reports. Updated when conditions change.

🗺️

Sites 55–70 offer the best balance of space and proximity to the Rialto Beach trailhead. Walk-in sites 1–15 put you closest to the beach but require hauling gear. RV sites 16–55 are comfortable and level. The campground is fully exposed to coastal weather — site choice matters less than bringing a quality rain fly and windbreak.
