Why Visit

Flowing Lake County Park

Flowing Lake County Park is a peaceful 100-acre Snohomish County retreat wrapped around a calm 97-acre lake in the foothills east of Snohomish. The 51 water-and-electric sites accommodate RVs up to 35 feet in a forested setting with good spacing between sites. A sandy swimming beach with a swim dock anchors summer activity, while the lake's naturally reproducing rainbow trout population draws anglers. Kayak and canoe rentals are available on-site in summer. The park's proximity to the Puget Sound metro area — less than an hour from Seattle — makes it a popular weekend destination that books up fast; reserving early is essential. The nearby town of Snohomish (10 miles west) offers antique shopping, restaurants, and a Safeway.

Local parks, local character

Flowing Lake County Park sits on a small glacially carved lake in the Snohomish River lowlands east of Everett, surrounded by second-growth alder and Douglas fir forest at the transition between Puget Sound lowlands and the North Cascades foothills. The lake's connections to the Snohomish River wetland system make it part of one of the most productive lowland salmon river corridors in Puget Sound, where the Snohomish supports significant runs of wild Chinook, coho, and steelhead. The Pilchuck State Forest and Snohomish County forest preserves nearby provide wildlife connectivity between the lake's lowland habitat and the Stevens Pass corridor National Forest lands in the North Cascades foothills.
