National Park

One of Washington's crown jewels

Denny Creek sits in the heart of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest within the I-90 corridor, at the gateway to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness — one of Washington's most heavily visited wilderness areas, featuring over 700 lakes and tarns scattered across a glaciated landscape. The South Fork Snoqualmie River above the campground carves through ancient rock sculpted by multiple glaciations, and the Denny Creek water slides — a series of smooth granite chutes worn by the river — are among the most popular natural water features in the Cascades. Snoqualmie Pass, visible on the ridge above camp, is one of only five year-round crossings of the Washington Cascades and marks the dividing line between the wet, forested west slopes and the drier rain-shadow forest of the east side.
