One of Washington's crown jewels

Beckler River Campground sits along the Beckler River in the Stevens Pass corridor of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, at the gateway to the Henry M. Jackson Wilderness — one of the most accessible large wilderness areas from the Seattle metro region. The Skykomish River valley supports some of the most important remaining wild steelhead and salmon habitat in the Puget Sound region, and winter steelhead fishing in the Skykomish and its tributaries draws anglers from across western Washington to these clear, cold mountain rivers. The US-2 corridor is recognized as a critical wildlife movement zone connecting the North Cascades wilderness to the eastern Cascades, with documented crossings by cougar, black bear, and wolverine using the highway underpasses and wildlife bridges above the freeway.

🗺️

Forested, shaded sites along the Beckler River — the river sites (1–10) are the nicest with pleasant white-noise water sounds. Very close to Hwy 2 but surprisingly quiet due to the forest buffer. A great base for Stevens Pass Greenway hiking and the Index Town Wall rock climbing area (12 miles west). Fills on summer weekends; arrive by Thursday afternoon. Good cell coverage from the Skykomish valley compared to deeper forest camps.
