Washington State Parks — built for exploration

Lake Wenatchee State Park sits at the source of the Wenatchee River drainage, where the Nason Creek and White River merge into the lake below the crest of the North Cascades — a junction of mountain watersheds that creates exceptional fishing and paddling habitat. The Wenatchee National Forest surrounding the lake provides access to the Glacier Peak Wilderness, one of Washington's most remote wilderness areas, where the 10,528-foot Glacier Peak volcano is surrounded by 30 named glaciers. The lake's crystal-clear water supports kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, and burbot, while the forested shoreline and adjacent wetlands provide critical winter habitat for bald eagles that concentrate here when the lower-elevation rivers freeze.

🗺️

North shore sites (1–70) have the best Lake Wenatchee views — stunning Cascade peaks backdrop. South campground near the boat launch is better for water sports. The lake stays cold from glacier runoff; a wetsuit is worth bringing for early-season swims. One of WA's largest state park campgrounds — book early for any summer weekend. In winter, access via Hwy 207 is reliable; the park offers cross-country ski trails.
